Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are removed from their homes and placed in foster families or relative care. That's when CASA steps in. Judges appoint a CASA to be a voice for these children in court. Advocates get to know the child, family members, foster family or relative placement, teachers, social workers, and other interested parties to determine the facts. CASA’s communicate their findings and recommendations to the court in reports and testimony.
