The "Talk Time Conversationalist" position is a volunteer that is dedicated to a non-profit whose mission is creating opportunities for immigrants and other community members in the Puget Sound Region through comprehensive services focused on self-sufficiency, inclusion and advocacy.

This position participates in talk time sessions by being paired with an English language learner and facilitate a conversation so the learner can practice the English vocabulary and grammar they are learning in class. Students are able to put their English skills into practice, while both conversation partners have the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences. Talk Time is often the only place where our students can engage in spontaneous conversations, which are important in building their language confidence and fluency.
