International Services: Restoring Family Links Regional Lead

Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Service to the Armed Forces and International Services, this position will manage and lead the Restoring Family Links program for the Michigan Region. **This opportunity is only available in Lansing, MI.
The Restoring Family Links program serves clients who have been separated from family members internationally due to armed conflict, migration, disasters, or other humanitarian emergencies. This is a casework based program working with clients in Michigan.
Casework can include delivery of Red Cross messages, responding to tracing inquiries, providing information and referral services, and community outreach.
- Serve as the RFL Lead for the Region and provide RFL casework services in the local chapter, as well as manage the RFL caseload for the Region
- Oversee Restoring Family Links caseworkers and outreach team members across the Region
- On-board and support new RFL volunteers using the New Volunteer Onboarding Guide
- Participate in annual World Refugee Awareness Week planning and events
- Work with regional leadership to ensure chapter capacity to provide RFL services, as needed
Minimum commitment of 1 year, renewable based upon performance. Must meet case deadlines to maintain caseworker status.
This position offers the opportunity to develop an array of professional skills including casework, case management, interviewing skills, ability to communicate program scope and limitations, records management and empathy. In addition, the Restoring Family Links Lead is able to contribute meaningfully to a program which serves families who have been internationally separated due to crisis, conflict, migration and/or disaster.
