The annual Costumes for Kids 5k Fun Run is one of our largest events of the year and requires the most manpower to make it successful. It is, also, the event our volunteers report having the most fun at. If you love costumes, supporting kids in foster care, and 5Ks, we'd love to have you be a part of our team of volunteers. The Fun Run brings in families from around the county, dressed in costumes, ready to run, have fun, enjoy music, eat, and win prizes.

We are looking for about 50 volunteers this year to help make this event great. Please feel welcome to share this event with friends and family, its a good time for all involved. There are several ways to be involved as a volunteer at this event. If you're interested, listed below are all the ways in which you can volunteer. We are flexible with your schedule that day and you can work different shifts.


Volunteer Opportunities

1. Seeking Sponsorships: This opportunity starts immediately. Those interested in this opportunity will be tasked with approaching local businesses, telling them about the event, asking for sponsorship, and providing them with the sponsorship packets. Those who choose to do help us in this manner will meet with Katie to go over their "elevator pitch" and be provided with further instructions.
2. Route Markers: This opportunity starts at 6 am on 10/27/2019, the day of the Fun Run. We need about 10 people to mark the route around town before the 5k starts
3. Registration: This opportunity starts at 8 am on 10/27/2019, the day of the Fun Run. We need about 5 Volunteers to help with sign-ins and registration.
4. Clean Up: This opportunity starts after the end of the race on 10/27/19, the day of the Fun Run. We need about 5 people to help clean up after the event
5. Creative Team Volunteers: This opportunity starts immediately. They will work with the Content Creator and Director of Programs and Marketing for things such as flyer creation, promotions on social media, photography of event, videography of event, creating press releases, creating blog posts about the event, and obtaining testimonials.
