Location:

726 N. Riverside Dr., Española, NM 87532, US

Mission Statement

To eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by constructing and building adequate and basic housing. Furthermore, all our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the heart and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our nations and world.

Description

Habitat for Humanity is not a handout. Habitat for Humanity "partners" with families who must pay back the cost of their Habitat Home at 0% interest, because those payments help other families realize the dream of homeownership. Three basic qualifications to be a Habitat Homeowner:

1. Need for simple, safe housing. Usually living in substandard rentals, and earn between 25-50% of the area's medium income to qualify.2. Willingness to partner with Habitat. Must be willing to work on their own home and/or other Habitat Homes. Homes are built with Volunteer labor. 3. Ability to pay. Upon completion, homes are sold to partner family at no-profit, on a mortgage payment affordable to family. Payments help fund the purchase of building materials to construct more Habitat Homes!
