About The Center for Wooden Boats
Location:

Mission Statement
To provide a gathering place where maritime history comes alive through direct experience and our small craft heritage is enjoyed, preserved, and passed along to future generations.
Description
Our mission is to work together to increase awareness and build passion for preservation of traditional maritime heritage skills and craft. We are a hands-on museum where historic wooden boats and traditional seamanship is kept alive through active use. Our programs are designed to get people using their hands: rowing, sailing, learning to tie knots, or telling sea stories. Our programs are meant to be fun, engaging, and accessible to all regardless or income or prior skill. We are a museum, a community center, a place of research and study, and an urban playground located right in the heart of Seattle.
