Visit, learn, and volunteer with us in Shenandoah National Park this summer!

Event #2 - July 13th - Plant herbaceous seedlings at Dickey Ridge

The Trail Conservation Club engages youth (ages 12 to 18) in the communities surrounding the Shenandoah Valley and the greater Washington DC metropolitan area who might be interested in visiting, learning, or serving in the park. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for everyone to explore our National Park.

Lunch is provided! Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.
Transportation is provided! We will be picking up and dropping off at a location near you.
Gear is provided! During all volunteer work, personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. This equipment will be provided.
A water bottle will be provided! Made possible by a donation from Hydro Flask's Parks For All program.

Recreational and educational activities will be incorporated as well! Space is limited!

This club will provide safe, structured, and challenging service and educational experiences that promote an ethic of natural resource stewardship and advocate for sustainable environmental health for future generations.

Description

Appalachian Conservation Corps, a program of Conservation Legacy, is a non-profit organization based out of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Through collaboration with public land managers and agencies such as the National Park Service and the United States Forest Service, we are able to provide youth (ages 16-18) and young adults (ages 18+) with seasonal, paid opportunities to learn about land management issues and environmental stewardship by working directly on the trails. Our organization strives to engage individuals, protect natural land, and strengthen connection to the local community through our conservation service programs.
