What is a Pick-up the Parks Day?

In an effort to fight big litter days in the parks, we are looking for help from community members and groups across the city! Every year, the 4th of July brings hundreds of visitors to the parks and with that heavy traffic comes a lot of extra litter.

On July 5th and 6th we are going to have our first ever Pick-up the Parks Days! We want to encourage anyone and everyone to stop by their neighborhood park and check for litter left behind from the 4th.

Any litter collected can be left in a tied off bag next to any trashcan in the park.

Need Gloves or Trash Bags?

We will have gloves and trash bags available for pick-up at the Main Parks Office in Joe Creason Park, Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm, starting on June 21st. For more information, or to pre-schedule a pick-up, please contact Sarah Flarsheim at sarah.flarsheim@louisvilleky.gov or call (502) 901-8191.
