Role and responsibilities:
Assist in the phases of each critical home repair project including, but not limited to:
 Perform detailed home inspection to determine repairs that are needed.
 Draft a project 'Scope of Work’ prioritizing the most critical health, safety, accessibility and ADA
issues.
 Preparation and maintenance of project specific budget and timeline.
 Review subcontractor proposals and contracts.
 Provide construction oversite on all home repair projects.
 Complete final inspection ensuring homeowner satisfaction, that the work is done according to
code, approved drawings, scope of work, and within contracted and approved budget.
Required/Beneficial Skills
 Commitment to Habitat’s mission and principles.
 Ability to work with people of different cultures, ethnicities, religions, and incomes.
 Excellent customer service, interpersonal and interpersonal skills, solid written and verbal
communication, organization, teamwork, attention to detail, self-motivation, and active
listening skills.
 5+ years of experience in residential home construction/repairs.
 Knowledge of standards and codes in the State of Texas.
 Experience with ADA Accessibility design.


Volunteers have the ability to create their own schedule and there are no minimum requirements for
hours worked. The majority of work can be completed over the phone with the Critical Repair
Construction Manager. Home assessments and reviews can be coordinated with the volunteer’s schedule. This position does not have any physical requirements. Currently, HFHGG contracts out the
majority of our critical repair projects.
