Centennial Farm Docents Needed during OC Fair

ORGANIZATION: CENTENNIAL FARM FOUNDATION

Volunteer at Centennial Farm during the 2019 OC Fair. During the Fair, volunteers are stationed around Centennial Farm to talk to Fair patrons about the animals and garden. The Fair runs from July 12 - August 11 (closed Mondays and Tuesdays), and the shifts are as follows:


Wednesday - Friday: Noon - 3:30, 3:30pm - 7pm, 7pm - 11pm

Saturday & Sunday: 10am - 2:30pm, 2:30 - 7pm, 7pm - 11pm

We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 4 shifts, though you are always welcome to do more. All volunteers must be over the age of 16 and will be background checked. Additionally, volunteers should be able to bend, kneel, walk, and stand for long periods of time. We are looking for volunteers that are responsible, enthusiastic and comfortable educating fair patrons about the Farm.

All volunteers are required to attend a Fair orientation on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering during Fair, I will add you to a list and will contact you as soon as we have a date for the orientation.

Centennial Farm is a three-acre working farm at the OC Fair & Event Center created to educate youth about agriculture and its importance to daily life. The Farm is home to fruit and vegetable gardens, livestock, and the Millennium Barn. Centennial Farm at the OC Fair & Event Center helps open young eyes to see how our food, clothing, housing and quality of life depend on agriculture.
