The Match Charter Public School is a nationally recognized, preK-12 high-performing school that serves low-income students in Boston. Many of our students arrive to our school several grade levels behind. Demographically, as urban youth, they arrive with just a 1-in-10 chance of earning a college degree. Our work is done through a combination of innovation, drive, and an emphasis on relationship building with students and their families. Match Corps allows idealistic and dedicated young people to invest their time and energy in helping disadvantaged youth. Match takes a "high expectations-high support" approach to pursuing measurable gains in student achievement. Throughout each school day, Corps members function as full-time tutors to small groups of students, typically 2 or 3 students at a time, in Math, working to close the learning gaps for their students and support their accelerated growth. By working with the same small groups every day, Corps members are able to build strong, genuine relationships with their students and differentiate learning for them in dynamic ways while providing individualized support as a mentor. During their careers at Match, students achieve and surpass grade-level standards, as measured by the most rigorous assessments in the nation. And they go on to enroll in and complete four-year colleges in high numbers. Every day, we do what some might consider impossible-we bring together idealistic, dedicated college graduates and hard-working, disciplined urban youth. We have created a program that allows Match students to achieve what so many consider impossible for low-income urban youth: success in college and beyond.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide intensive, small group tutoring to students in grades 5-10 in Math during a school block
2. Build in-depth relationships that transcend tutorial boundaries with students, acting as mentors and helping them achieve goals
3. Collect and analyze data surrounding student performance. Use data to inform decisions regarding how best to support student achievement.
4. Engage parents and/or guardians through regular communication regarding student growth and challenges.
5. Serve as a contributing member of the school team to advance the success of all students
6. Support activities and celebrations that enrich the school culture and community
7. Promote a spirit of service within the school and broader community.

Mission Statement
The mission of Match Education is twofold. First, we are committed to delivering extraordinary results for the students we serve in our charter school and graduate school of education. Second, we strive to be a source of innovation in education nationwide. We have created a program that allows Match students to achieve what so many consider impossible for low-income urban youth: success in college and beyond.
Description
Match Education is an engine of discovery and applied innovation in education. We operate high-performing urban public charter schools, a unique graduate school of education that trains teachers for high-poverty schools, and out of this applied work, we refine, validate empirically, and disseminate new ideas and practices on core questions in education reform.
Match Public Charter School is a high-performing, innovative charter public school in Boston, serving students from PreK to 12th grade on multiple campuses across the city. The school is widely recognized for its ability to prepare students academically for college success.
Match Corps( http://www.matcheducation.org/join/match-corps), an AmeriCorps program, is a one-year urban education fellowship. Recent college graduates from top universities across the country commit a year to closing the achievement gap in Boston, one student at a time. Match Corps Members tutor small groups of students in grades 6-12 and partner closely with families. Tutors are integral members of high-performing school teams in some of the best schools in America and discover what it takes to change the lives of kids.
