SCAN’s Circle Preschool serves preschool-age children who demonstrate significant social and emotional difficulties stemming from trauma. The program provides high quality early childhood education and intensive trauma focused treatment to these children. We work to integrate children into mainstream classroom settings so that they are able to be successful in school.
The Circle Preschool is in need of volunteers to assist the staff with caring for children. Volunteers will help with one-to-one activities with the children, and during class time, naptime, meal time or play time. Volunteers may also assist while caregivers are in meetings with the teachers. We are looking for volunteers for the 2020-2021 school year who are able to commit to at least a three hour shift once a week during daytime hours. Background checks are required, as well as a TB test and additional training.
Greater Richmond SCAN’s mission is to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect throughout the Greater Richmond area by protecting children, promoting positive parenting, strengthening families and creating a community that values and cares for its children.
