About Our Race
A family-friendly community race to fundraise for the Chicago-based nonprofit Expanding Lives. For more information check out www.expandinglives.org. Our event includes a 5K race followed by a raffle at the end.

About us:
Expanding Lives is an organization that promotes leadership experiences and provides education to women in West Africa who are the first women in their family to go to high school. We do this by creating leadership development opportunities for the women we help and local students over the summer, as well as continued support throughout the academic career of the women in our program. Race Info
July 31st - check-in and race day registration opens at 7:00am. The 5K race starts at 8:00am for runners and at 8:15am for walkers. Strollers are allowed on the course for the 8:15am start.

Volunteer Info
If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please contact our volunteer coordinator at: jrboard@expandinglives.org. Volunteers are expected to help set up, facilitate, and clean up the race, from 6:00am to 12:00pm on July 31st. Volunteers will be given a free T-shirt and free breakfast for their help. We welcome volunteers that are not available for the entire time, but the T-shirt and breakfast will not be guaranteed. The job is very easy, primarily marking the race path and making sure the runners have water at the water table. Also helping with raffle set up, registration, and T-shirt hand-out.
