  • 1 person is interested

The West End Museum is a neighborhood museum dedicated to the collection, preservation and interpretation of the history and culture of the West End of Boston. We are seeking the assistance of a professional or advanced amateur videographer and editor to film and/or edit events, programs, and/or interviews with former West Enders as well as to inventory/organize existing and new video content. Videos will be used in the Museum’s social media and archived in its permanent collection.

  • Own commercial video equipment and be available to shoot as needed on occasional nights and/or weekends
  • Have access to and knowledge of video editing software and a willingness to edit for different purposes; includes an ability to identify the most compelling content
  • Have knowledge of uploading video directly to YouTube and/or transferring video files to other volunteer staff
  • Be able to turn around video within a week of shooting, or in another requested time frame
  • Be respectful, courteous, and comfortable serving as an interviewer (with provided guidance/list of questions)

Most of the videotaping will be done at the Museum (North Station area). There may be rare requests for other locations. You need to be available once a month for marketing committee meetings, some of which are conducted at the Museum, some via conference call. You need to be able to commit approximately 5-10 hours per month for a period of at least 3 months.

To apply, please send your resume and a note about any relevant experience not reflected in it. A link to an online reel or sample videos is strongly preferred, but not required for application.
