We need short term foster families for dogs, puppies, and kittens which are travelling from Texas to be adopted at adoption events at the PetSmart in Greenfield, WI. Due to the warm climate and year-round breeding season in Texas, and despite large-scale spay-neuter programs, pet overpopulation continues to be a tragic crisis which results in very high kill rates at local shelters, which do not have space to shelter so many animals, and where there are not enough homes to absorb all of the dogs, puppies, cats and kittens down here.
In collaboration with generous and passionate families in the Wisconsin area, where dogs and puppies are in short supply, a rescue dog which is fortunate enough to find its way to Wisconsin results in TWO lives saved: The life of the dog which joins a loving family in the Wisconsin/Illinois area AND a dog who will get its shelter space down in Texas, giving it a chance to be adopted in Texas, rather than being euthanized for lack of space.
We would like to create a call-list of people who would be willing, from time to time, to take in a dog, puppies, or kittens to stay between events. The period of fostering would be as short as one overnight stay prior to an event, or as long as 3 weeks. This is in the Milwaukee area - in particular the Greenfield, Brookfield, and Oak Creek areas.
We would contact people on the list prior to each particular need (you would indicate your preference for dogs (small, medium, large, puppies) or cats. All of our animals are spay/neutered, up to date on shots, have received wormer and flea treatment, microchipped, heartworm tested, and come with a veterinary health certificate.
We will need fostering from time to time for the following:
- Adult dogs (small, medium, large)
- Puppies (single and litters)
- Kittens (single and litters)
We provide the crate or pen, food, and litter. You provide the care and love.

Mission Statement
We seek to find homes for thousands of dogs (and sometimes cats) from Texas and surrounding states in order to prevent dogs from euthanization for lack of space in animal shelters, as well as dying on the streets and in rural areas.
Description
We are currently focused on fostering and fully vetting homeless dogs and moving them to the northern United States, and away from the pet overpopulation crisis in Texas, where over 96,000 dogs were euthanized in shelters for lack of space last year.
