Organization
Healthy Schools International is a 501(c)(3) organization. We help students and their communities in Africa thrive by implementing clean water, safe sanitation, and solar electric projects at their schools.
Project need
Conduct a financial audit for the 2018 tax year (1 Jan - 31 Dec, 2018). Our bookkeeping is straightforward and uncomplicated, with limited carryover assets, no payroll and no investments. We are a small, all-volunteer organization. Our financial accounting software is QuickBooks Online. Accounting records are managed by our professional bookkeeper and overseen by our CFO/CPA.
The continuity of completing 3rd party audits and Form 990 Long Form are an investment in our future growth. Our long-term strategy is to build a trustworthy reputation of transparency and fiscal responsibility in order to achieve greater recognition in charity watchdog and fundraising circles (specifically, Charity Navigator and the Combined Federal Campaign). We have had full third-party audits for the past 5 years and last year submitted our first Long Form 990. Additionally, to reduce pressure for the filing deadline, the IRS has already approved our filing extension request to Nov 15, 2019.

Mission Statement
We help students in Sierra Leone and Kenya to thrive by partnering with their schools to implement clean water, safe sanitation and solar energy projects.
Description
Founded in 2010, Healthy Schools International, Inc (previously Deeper Missions, Inc) is a US-based, all-volunteer 501(c)3 charitable nonprofit, also registered as an international NGO with the government of Sierra Leone. We believe in "hand up" partnerships with schools and their communities in Africa; what this looks like is a 2- to 5-year relationship which implements and teaches sustainment of the clean infrastructure that helps enhance the health of the students. Additionally, we seek to work with the school to develop profit-generating services or products based on the clean infrastructure we help implement. This revenue stream at a minimum supports the maintenance of the infrastructure and, hopefully, can grow to help offset school operation costs.
