ORGANIZATION: Rize Beyond

Rize Beyond is a nonprofit organization that assists adults with getting their GED and achieving the level of success they desire. Most students lack support and have barriers to overcome. Tutors are encouraged to assist participants with understanding the material better and with questions they may have regarding the four GED subject areas.

Tutor responsibilities consist of the following:

  • Assist participants in two of the four GED subject areas (Mathematics and Reading/Language Art)
  • Commit to one or more days/evenings per week
  • May tutor in an individual and/or group setting
  • Meet with students virtually using a video platform

Qualifications

  • Has earned at least a high school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in math and reading/language arts
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Respect and empathy for participants
  • A positive attitude and good listening skills
  • Patience, understanding, and a sense of humor
  • Reliable, responsible, dependable, and a commitment to fulfilling obligations
  • Committed to volunteering for 6 months to a year

Tutor training will be provided.

This is a volunteer opportunity and a background check is required.
