The Kentucky Science Center’s Visitor Services team is the point of contact for all visitors to the Kentucky Science Center. If you enjoy working with talking to others, sharing information, and finding creative solutions, then the Visitor Services Phone Representative Volunteer position is perfect for you!

As a Visitor Services volunteer, you’ll apply your talents and skills to helping the Kentucky Science Center’s visitors have a wonderful visit. The ideal volunteer shares infectious enthusiasm, attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude with Kentucky Science Center visitors of all ages.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist with the daily operation of the Visitor Services team by sharing information over the phone to guests.

• Ensures that the Visitor Services Team acts as a central information point for all Science Center operations, including but not limited to all programs, exhibits, theater films, membership, and special events.
• Acts with tact, diplomacy, and a glowing attitude when dealing with the public.
• Communicates and works as a team with co-workers, visitors, and/or volunteers to ensure a smooth operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience, knowledge and/or interest in science or related field; love of learning
· Enjoys working with people
· Patient when helping visitors
· Technical proficiency not required but willing to learn new skills such as phone systems and computer programs
· Organized, dependable and responsible; able to work with limited direct supervision
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
· Must pass a background check
