The Collaborative is looking for a talented music/venue booker to join our volunteer staff. This will involve booking music acts, managing the promotion for each event and setting up/breaking down on day of shows.
The right candidate must feel confident filling the calendar with a range of diverse music acts; a wealth of contacts within the local music industry is helpful. The candidate should also have some level of experience with sound equipment (or be willing to learn!).
We are looking for someone who is driven, organized, reliable and has a can-do attitude. A passion for music is a must and the person in question should have the knowledge and flexibility to work with a range of genres.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing/securing music acts
- Proofreading contracts
- Handling tech specs
- Set up/break down of sound equipment and seating arrangements
- Social media - updating platforms including Facebook & Instagram
- Promotion/PR/Marketing - flyering, creating promotional/marketing strategies, contacting press/radio/media companies
- Researching artists/bands

To provide an environment for creatives that fosters, encourages and celebrates the diverse talents within Rhode Island, giving artists an opportunity to network, create, exhibit and sell their work. We provide artists with resources and an outlet to grow their talent and build their business acumen while also bridging the gap to educate the community and create excitement and awareness about our local well of talent.
Description
The Collaborative is an Artist Collaborative that showcases established artists and supports future ones.
We provide a place for local artist's to exhibit their work and collaborate together. We have gallery nights, master classes, and other events to help increase exposure and establish a thriving arts community.
The Collaborative also develops educational opportunities for middle and high school students in the form of scholarships, internships and master classes taught by our group of artists. We feature a "Student Artist in the Room" program during the school year, showcasing a middle or high school student's work in the Collaborative space and on our website.
