Looking for people to join the Friends of Tomoka Basin State Parks Group. This goals of this group include trail maintenance; maintain, protect, and conserve plant and wildlife habitats; assisting with educational programs/classes; volunteer recruitment' outreach events; and development of historic interpretive sites. The group meets once every other month; however, meetings are not mandatory. Members can determine their own level of involvement in activities with the Friends Group.
Membership costs $20 but includes 12 free visits to the park annually, a friends quarterly newsletter, invitations to special friends' only events, and a membership card. It is also good experience working with the state parks and a great way to give back.

~Specifically looking for someone to serve in the role of Secretary on the Friends Group Board~ This role includes keeping minutes for the Friends Group meetings, attending to correspondence and filing all papers for references, and gives required notices to members. Excellent position for becoming more involved with state parks and continued leadership development.

Description
The Friends of Tomoka Basin State Parks, Inc. is a community based Citizen Support Organization whose purpose is to support the parks through volunteerism and fundraising. Some goals include trail maintenance, conserving plant and wildlife habitats, educational programs/classes, volunteer recruitment, outreach events, and development of historic interpretive sites.
