Fitness Instructor
Purpose: The Fitness Instructor provides service to youth at Covenant House by facilitating exercise, teamwork and fun. All youth should be provided the opportunity, if they choose, to participate in every game, and play different positions on the field/court.
Location: Covenant House NJ sites in Newark, Elizabeth, Montclair, Asbury Park, or Atlantic City
Key Responsibilities: Volunteers will help by providing a safe environment for practice and games.
Qualifications: All volunteers must be 23 years or older. Volunteers are upbeat, friendly, positive and social as we want to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for our young people.
Time Commitment: one hour shift, once a week or biweekly for a three month commitment.
Training Provided: Two hour Covenant House Volunteer Orientation and training on specific educational materials to be used with youth.

Description
Since 1989, Covenant House New Jersey has been providing food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless, runaway and trafficked youth between the ages 18-21. Today there are 30 Covenant House locations in the USA, Canada and Latin America. Together we serve more than 51,00 homeless young people each year. We are proud to be the nation's largest privately funded agency serving homeless, runaway and at-risk youth. Our doors are open 24 hours a day for youth in need.
