Banner Hospice of Northern Colorado provides high-quality, comprehensive and compassionate end-of-life care throughout northern Colorado in patient’s homes, independent and assisted living facilities and skilled nursing homes. Banner Hospice is currently seeking volunteers for both direct patient care support and non-clinical support, both of which includes a wide range of activities to enhance patient care. Direct patient care opportunities include companionship, respite (caregiver relief) and life review. Non-clinical support includes administrative support such as preparing mailings, event support and special projects.

Companionship opportunities include offering emotional support, empathy and other supportive services to hospice patients and their family members. In this role, the hospice volunteer performs duties including initiating and maintaining contact with assigned patients and their family members, as well as offering comfort measures and respite for the family members.

Hospice volunteering is a very satisfying and rewarding experience as you offer yourself and your friendship to patients and their families. It is a gift that you are willing to help a terminally-ill person make the very best of the time he or she has left.
