Join SBEP and Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Department to bag oyster shell and build an oyster reef at Perico Preserve in Bradenton. The reef will provide habitat for wildlife, improve water quality, and stabilize shorelines in the preserve. This work will be tough, but very rewarding. Suitable for volunteers ages 12 and older. You really can make a difference! By volunteering in the preserves, you will make a positive impact on the environment. Volunteers help preserve the homes of native plants and animals, re-establishing much-needed habitat. The work completed by volunteers will also help to secure the land for the enjoyment of future generations. All individuals are welcome to apply to become a volunteer - we have lots of different jobs available!
