Help build a local cultural ecosystem based on sharing and generosity!

Compound Yellow is a 5 year old not-for-profit in Oak Park, Illinois, just outside Chicago. We're conveniently located near the Green Line at the Ridgeland stop.

Mission of our organization: We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) experimental art space with curatorial focus in cultural production, sharing economies, participatory art, and interdisciplinary explorations. Comprised of a group of artists, curators, educators, parents and engaged citizens, Compound Yellow hosts exhibitions, interventions, performances, workshops, lectures, gatherings, and collective imagining. We want to celebrate a culture of sharing, connecting and collective action! We are entirely volunteer-run, including our managing board of directors. We recently obtained non-profit status and are eager to begin fundraising so that we can offer paid opportunities in the future.

We are in need of help in these areas:

- Exhibition and event setup, preparation, and staffing of programs, gallery sitting
- Supporting exhibiting artists, scholars, community members
- Online marketing and promotion of events
- Gardening, prairie and raised beds care/weeding (we have an awesome outdoor garden/art space!)
- Organization, sorting, reducing excess in storage and studio
- Preparatory work; painting, patching, installing artworks and deinstalling artworks
- Fundraising support
- Administrative support: email marketing, website, social media upkeep

Volunteers are needed for specific events, daytime and evening, as well as gallery sitting, and administrative work that can be done remotely.
