The Valor Awards ceremony celebrates the members of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) who demonstrated bravery at great personal risk to their own lives whether on-or off-duty within the past year. This annual event allows the amazing stories to be shared while raising money to support various needs that the department has.

Our organization works year-round to support them as efficiently as possible. As a small team of six, we rely on our community to helps us support the heroic men and women of the LAFD who do so much to support us. On November 10th, we need your help in ensuring a successful event to properly honor the awardees.

We need help in various areas including registration, silent auction, and ushers for directions.

If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering for this heartwarming event, please contact me at tiffani@supportlafd.org.

Mission Statement

The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation supports the LAFD in protecting life, property, and the environment by providing essential equipment, training, and public outreach programs to supplement city resources.

Description

First responders in Los Angeles face an enormous array of challenges: wildfires, car and truck accidents, train collisions, earthquakes, and hazardous-material leaks and spills. Firefighters must endure searing heat, exposure to carcinogens, and other life-threatening conditions; paramedics are rigorously trained to respond to all types of injuries, from heart attacks and strokes to accident-related traumas, shootings, and drownings.

Founded in 2010 by a committed group of community activists and business leaders, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation serves to strengthen the overall preparedness and responsiveness of the LAFD. Our focus is on public safety: We support the department by helping to invest in equipment, training programs, and public outreach to help these men and women excel at their jobs.

They are heroes, here to serve us - and the Foundation’s mission is to serve them.
