Quick Overview: Support our mission to provide quality care to all Angelinos by leading arts & crafts activities with the kids in our waiting rooms!

Mission or Broader Program Description: We have been serving our community since 1920. We are a federally qualified nonprofit health center dedicated to improving the physical, social and emotional well-being of people in the communities we serve, regardless of income. Nearly three-quarters of our patients live at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, and more than half of the over 40,000 patients that we provide care to each year are children.

Impact: For both parents and kids visiting the doctor can be stressful and sometimes scary. Because of volunteers like yourself, we are able to offer kids a distraction from any nervousness that they may be feeling as well as give their parents time to fill out the required paperwork and relax for a minute.

"Let’s be honest, going to the doctor is not exactly something kids look forward to. That is why I love being part of Eisner’s volunteers at the arts and crafts station where I help kids keep their mind occupied during the wait." -Marlen, Pediatric Arts & Crafts Volunteer

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: You will be responsible for leading arts & craft activities including but not limited to drawing/coloring, card-making, and frame-decorating.

Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older; minimum requirement of 3 hrs/week for 12 weeks.

Monday - Friday; Morning shifts are between 8-12:00 pm and afternoon shifts are between 12-4:00 pm.
