A Smoker Needs A Friend - Friendly Visitor Needed in Laguna Woods

A nice 75 year old woman who lives alone in Laguna Woods has requested to meet a Friendly Visitor Volunteer. She does smoke cigarettes in her home. She has some physical challenges that limit her ability to be out and about and participating in social opportunities.

Our program matches volunteers with seniors who have requested a Friendly Volunteer to visit just one hour per week. Your schedule is flexible. Set up appointments that are convenient for both of you.

No personal/medical care or transportation is requested. This senior would like someone to talk to, take short walks with, share stories, play cards or just get to know each other.

You don't need special skills just an open heart and 1 hour a week to share.
If you are a friendly and patient person who has one hour a week to share and you don't mind a smoking environment; then we really would like you to join our Friendly Visitor Program.

Our agency is Volunteer Action for Aging, a Community Service division of SCAN Health Plan. We coordinate a Friendly Visitor program to assist isolated, lonely seniors in their home. Our Friendly Visitor program is free of charge.

Please visit our website scan.samaritan.com and click on the LA County Friendly Visitor tab to complete the application. If you have questions, please feel free to call or email Teri at 562-637-7175 or email at thershberg@scanhealthplan.com
