The Point Loma Native Plant Garden is home to a beautiful collection of plants and trees native to San Diego and Southern California cared for entirely by volunteers! The site has a trail, native plant nursery and more!

If you enjoy gardening or simply enjoy spending time outside, we would love to have your help maintaining this wonderful garden!

Activities Include:

  • Weeding
  • Watering
  • Pruning
  • Trail Maintenance
  • Guided plant walk included
  • Other light gardening projects


Details:

  • All ages welcome.
  • All tools provided.
  • No experience necessary
  • Dress in clothes that can get a little dirty.
  • Closed toe shoes required.
  • Community service hours can be verified.

The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.

Description

We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
