Samaritan Volunteers help home-bound patients with transportation needs such as driving to doctors appointments, running errands or picking up groceries and medical supplies.
As a Samaritan Volunteer, you will use your own vehicle to help support patients and their family members/caregivers and provide them with greater independence and improved quality-of life.
Volunteers are required to attend a fifteen hour training course to learn about the agency and its policies, safety issues, different types of diseases and how best to accommodate patients within the scope of the program. Trainings are held in person every other month. ( November 2022 and January 2023.) Please call for specific dates and times. Our office is located in Wilton and you will individually meet with me first.
Volunteers are provided with ongoing support and supervision by the Volunteer Coordinator.

Ready to serve you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, our highly-skilled, dedicated caregivers will work closely with you, your family and your physician, to customize a plan of care designed especially to meet your individual needs.
Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County is a Medicare-certified, state-licensed home health and hospice agency. It is accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) and is an approved and preferred provider for many major health insurance and managed care companies as well as healthcare and eldercare facilities.
Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County is a non-profit organization with board members who live locally and ensure that our programs and services meet your needs. Our resources are local. Our professional staff members are employees, not contract workers. Our employees are insured, professionally trained, and receive ongoing supervision.
We are a Medicare-certified agency, allowing you to transfer to other programs without leaving your home or changing agencies.
