Are you looking for a meaningful opportunity to give back?

Literacy Green Bay registers new students at the beginning of each month for English classes, often as many as 20 new students are registered in a month. Our English program support volunteer activities include assisting during registration, helping prospective students fill out applications and forms, entering new students into our database, proctoring reading and speaking tests under the supervision of the program manager and acting as a point of reference for new and continuing students within our program. Our students are our first priority, and it is important to help them feel comfortable and confident when they come to class.

Literacy Green Bay is looking for reliable, responsible and patient volunteers. Volunteers are expected to arrive on-time with enthusiasm for learning. Volunteers will set an example for students about the importance of learning, as well as the lifelong benefits.

Thank you for considering Literacy Green Bay as your next volunteer opportunity!

Description

Literacy Green Bay offers English Language classes, Family Literacy Classes, and One-on-One Adult Tutoring. We offer ELL Classes in the mornings and evenings four days a week. The Children First Family Literacy program is a GED program in collaboration with NWTC and the Howe Community Resource Center, which provides GED instruction. Students in our Adult Tutoring program work one-on-one with volunteer tutors on goals that are specific to their needs (i.e. improving basic reading skills, speaking better English, studying for GED). We are always in need of Volunteers like you, to meet the needs of our students. For more information about how you can help, please contact us at info@literacygreenbay.org or at 920-435-2474.
