Alamo Community Group is a local San Antonio non-profit organization that provides affordable housing. This summer we are looking to enhance our Learning Center Programs through the use of volunteers. We are looking to recruit a diverse group of compassionate volunteers who can commit to 66 volunteer hours this summer. If you would like to serve as a positive role model and support our youth academically, socially, and personally we invite you to join the summer fun at one of ACG’s Learning Centers. Mission Statement
ACG is a San Antonio 501©(3) non-profit affordable housing provider whose mission is to develop, acquire, own and manage affordable housing in a community environment that promotes resident education, self-sufficiency, leadership and volunteerism through successful partnerships.
Description
ACG has been providing quality affordable housing to working families throughout Bexar County since 1990 and is a chartered member of the national NeighborWorks(r) America, a network of community based organizations working together to build strong communities. ACG currently owns 1,317 multi-family apartment homes at 10 different communities in San Antonio and Kirby.
In addition to providing quality affordable housing, ACG also prides itself on providing high quality on-site educational and community building programs through Community Learning Centers. Inside each Community Learning Center you will find a Computer Technology Lab available for all residents to utilize, as well as a full time professionally degreed Resident Coordinator who facilitates all community activities and events. These programs and services allow residents the opportunity to take advantage of educational and asset building activities without the barriers of time, transportation and expense.
