Camp Korey is a camp for kids with life-altering medical conditions. We are an all-year round camp with weekend/day programs during the year and week long summer sessions all during the summer.
We have a camper who is hard of hearing/deaf coming for one of our sessions of camp and are looking for 1-2 people who know enough ASL to be a 1:1 cabin counselor for this camper (hoping for 2 people to be able to trade-off). The parents are okay if the person is not a licensed interpreter - they just want them to be able to communicate well enough with their child and interpret as best they can.
As a cabin counselor - you will be going around to all the different activities and hanging out mostly with the cabin that this particular camper will be assigned to. You will stay in the room with that camper and 1-2 other campers and 1 other counselor as well.

Description
Camp Korey offers children and families an escape from the endless medical treatments that have overshadowed childhood. Campers grow stronger, braver, and build leadership skills that they take into their everyday lives. Our campers have reported an increase in self-esteem, confidence and resilience, along with a network of friends and support to help them through the tough times. We work with a dedicated team of medical professionals and program facilitators to create a medically safe camp adventure. Camp is always free to campers and their families, thanks to our volunteers, donors and supporters.
