TOPSoccer is a sports program for children and adults with special needs, including ASD (autism), Down syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and other physical, intellectual, and emotional disabilities.

This program is an outdoor recreational soccer program held on Sunday afternoons at the Lakewood Ranch Park soccer fields. Volunteers arrive at 10 to help set up and stay until noon, when the equipment is put away. The players arrive at 10:30.

Volunteer coaches (roughly 8 people) help lead activities and provide coaching tips and encouragement. Soccer experience is very helpful, as well as prior Buddy experience.

Volunteer Buddies will be assigned a specific child or adult to work with each day of the program(staying with that person for the season), so it is important that volunteers commit to being there all 8 weeks of the season. Soccer experience is not necessary.

Patience, enthusiasm, safety, punctuality, and a desire to help others are critical traits of all volunteers.
