Go Volunteer Africa’s teaching volunteer project in Rwanda focuses on English language classes, international cultural exchanges and educational murals. These initiatives are aimed at a wide range of audiences, from school children to local villagers. Education is one of the most important tools Go Volunteer Africa can give the children in order to break the cycle of poverty affecting their lives and to help them become independent adults.
THE TEACHING PROGRAM IN RWANDA
Go Volunteer Africa offers a wide variety of teaching and education projects across Rwanda. Go Volunteer Africa works with three schools in Rwanda. A volunteer in Rwanda can choose between teaching in elementary schools or in secondary school. The schools have very basic facilities and the main resources you will have in your classroom are a blackboard and a piece of chalk.

Go Volunteer Africa is a matchmaker with a dual role of providing the solutions for both the volunteers and the not-for-profit organizations in Africa. We assure a good organization-volunteer match by gathering pertinent information about both prospective volunteers and non-profit organizations in Africa.
Description
Go Volunteer Africa works in cooperation with grass-roots organizations in Africa. We support these organizations through recruitment of volunteers and grants to support their work and help increase their capacity. The organizations Go Volunteer Africa works with in Africa were established and are run by native residents. They existed prior to our involvement with them and run completely without interference from Go Volunteer Africa. Their main purpose is to support their local community: mainly children, youth and vulnerable adults.

- Minimum 4 weeks commitment. The communities have shown great interest in learning English from our international volunteers, most of whom speak English as a first or second language. Rwanda transformed from French to English.
- We have other volunteer teaching assignments in Rwanda, were a volunteer can teach geography, mathematics, physical education and history at community schools in Rwanda as a volunteer.
