Summer Volunteer at SJPL

Help kids & teens learn, grow, and thrive by volunteering with the San José Public Library this summer. With just 1-3 hours per week, teen and adult volunteers can help support our Summer Learning and Free Summer Food programs.

Summer Learning: June 1 - July 31

At each of our 25 library locations, our Summer Learning Ambassadors play a pivotal role in encouraging youth and families to continue education during the summer months with the Summer Learning program. Sign up to volunteer today:

Free Summer Food Program: June 10 - August 9

Feed bodies and fuel success as a Free Summer Food Program Assistant. Help distribute nutritious lunchtime meals to children and teens, at the following branch libraries:

  • Edenvale Branch
  • Educational Park Branch
  • Hillview Branch
