The Balboa Park Conservancy is currently seeking a summer intern to learn under the Director of Park Activation. This is a great opportunity for a student seeking a career in sustainability along with event management, event planning, recreational leadership or hospitality.

Food Truck Friday is one of Balboa Park’s most successful events, attracting thousands of park visitors and families to a unique opportunity to sample a diverse, rotating selection of gourmet food trucks. Food Truck Friday also presents different musical performers each night in the Plaza de Panama while having games set-up for people to play. The Park Activation intern will be helping ensure this event’s success!

You will:

  • Directly assist the Director of Park Activation
  • Analyze the event’s level of sustainability
  • Shadow a staff person & Park Ranger load in Food Trucks
  • Answer visitors’ questions
  • Help with set-up & clean-up

We use our voice, influence and connections with park stakeholders, government officials, and community and business leaders to advocate for the best version of Balboa Park possible. We provide staff, volunteers, materials, data, funding and other critical resources to serve priority park initiatives.
