Hospice is about quality of life. Your compassionate and loving presence is all that is required to make a tremendous difference in someone’s life.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us. As a hospice volunteer, you are part of a wonderful team of caring people who believe every little thing we do, can and will make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Our goal is to create a positive experience for our volunteers, patients and the families we support.
Volunteer opportunities include direct patient/family companionship and support-writing letters, reading books aloud, playing board and card games, playing a musical instrument, sharing a good conversation, sitting quietly together, watching a movie together, and more.
Volunteers will be trained and background-checked before beginning. As our volunteers mostly do in-home visits, a driver's license and car are required. However, there are opportunities to volunteer in our office and from home if you are unable to drive to patients' homes. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
