Literacy Green Bay serves over 500 students each year through our many programs: Adult Tutoring, Pre-GED classes and English Language Classes. We offer three levels of English, taught by volunteer teachers. As a volunteer, activities include: building inter-personal relationships with students, guiding students through classwork, assisting the teacher in preparation for class by organizing materials, and creating a welcoming environment for new students.
Literacy Green Bay is looking for reliable, responsible and patient volunteers. Volunteers are expected to arrive on-time for the class they will be assisting in, with enthusiasm for learning. Volunteers will set an example for students about the importance of learning, as well as the lifelong benefits.
To learn more about times classes are offered, for questions or feedback, please contact Liz Brinks at lbrinks@literacygreenbay.org
Thank you for considering Literacy Green Bay as your next volunteer opportunity!

We accomplish this through the efforts of volunteers, students, and staff, as well as appropriate resources, facilities and funding. Description
Literacy Green Bay offers English Language classes, Family Literacy Classes, and One-on-One Adult Tutoring. We offer ELL Classes in the mornings and evenings four days a week. The Children First Family Literacy program is a GED program in collaboration with NWTC and the Howe Community Resource Center, which provides GED instruction. Students in our Adult Tutoring program work one-on-one with volunteer tutors on goals that are specific to their needs (i.e. improving basic reading skills, speaking better English, studying for GED). We are always in need of Volunteers like you, to meet the needs of our students. For more information about how you can help, please contact us at info@literacygreenbay.org or at 920-435-2474.
