ORGANIZATION: Literacy Green Bay

Are you looking for a way to get involved in the community? Are you passionate about reading, and helping others? The Literacy Green Bay Adult Tutoring program may be the perfect fit!

We ask for a six month commitment for our Adult tutors. There are currently 30+ learners waiting to be matched, especially now as summer is underway.

No previous experience is required! Our organization provides all the training necessary, and continued support throughout your match. We require training of all our tutors, and are currently accepting RSVP’s for our summer session. We will have a general information session on Monday, June 24th at either 9:00am or 6:00pm to accommodate your schedules. This Informational Session does not require an RSVP.

If after the informational session, or even before, you are certain you would like to volunteer with our Tutoring program, you may RSVP to Liz Brinks at lbrinks@literacygreenbay.org or call our office at 920-435-2474.

If you would like more information about how you can get involved as a volunteer with Literacy Green Bay, please speak with one of our staff after the informational session!

For questions, please contact Liz Brinks.

Description

Literacy Green Bay offers English Language classes, Family Literacy Classes, and One-on-One Adult Tutoring. We offer ELL Classes in the mornings and evenings four days a week. The Children First Family Literacy program is a GED program in collaboration with NWTC and the Howe Community Resource Center, which provides GED instruction. Students in our Adult Tutoring program work one-on-one with volunteer tutors on goals that are specific to their needs (i.e. improving basic reading skills, speaking better English, studying for GED). We are always in need of Volunteers like you, to meet the needs of our students. For more information about how you can help, please contact us at info@literacygreenbay.org or at 920-435-2474.
