Do you enjoy spending time with cats and kittens? Are you familiar with basic feline care? Are you friendly, great at customer service, responsible, and reliable? If so, we'd love for you to join us as a member of the VFAP Volunteer Adoption Center Team! We are currently in need of additional team members 18 years or older to assist with care and adoptions. Volunteer duties include general cleaning, interacting with the cats and kittens, welcoming and assisting potential adopters, and being timely and responsible for your shift hours. We primarily need volunteer help Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Ideally we are looking for people to commit to weekly shifts (shifts are morning or afternoon, 9:00-12:30 and then 2:30-5:30) but we also welcome those who can come in occasionally to help us in between shifts or when shift owners are unavailable. We will provide all the training you need and also offer the benefit of working with the kindest, most compassionate group of animal-loving folks you'd ever meet! We are located at 4601 North Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89130, right near the Santa Fe Casino and next door to the Caring Hands Animal Hospital. It's very easy to get to right off the 95 North. Hope to meet you soon!

Mission Statement

Vets for Abandoned Pets (VFAP) is a group of volunteers dedicated to reducing suffering by providing medical treatment, spay/neuter, and ultimately finding loving forever homes for the abandoned and homeless cat and kitten population of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Description

Vets for Abandoned Pets (VFAP) was founded in 2012 to expand the impact of local TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) efforts. Kittens too young for spay/neuter would end up being released back outside on the hot Las Vegas streets, where life is always a struggle. Friendly cats and kittens who would make wonderful pets were also being released, having no where else to go. The solution was to create a network of volunteers who could help provide medical treatment and temporary foster homes for these cats and kittens. Local veterinary offices provided space for adoptions and thus VFAP was born. Over the years, VFAP has grown and our volunteers have worked tirelessly to find loving forever homes for over 3,000 cats and kittens. In addition to working with local TNR groups, we also pull cats and kittens at risk of being euthanized from local shelters and provide them with the medical treatment they need to be healthy and happy. To further expand our outreach program, we have opened up our own cat and kitten adoption center, located at 4601 North Ranch Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89130. VFAP is partnered with Heaven Can Wait, Las Vegas’s largest non-profit spay and neuter foundation. All of our cats are spay/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for medical conditions by the Heaven Can Wait clinic.
