Each year the Natural History Museum of Utah education team visits hundreds of 4th grade classrooms to bring the Museum to students who might not otherwise get to visit us. We need volunteers to help engage these students in their Museum-led classroom activities. As a Museum on the Move volunteer, you will be able to play a part in igniting a young child's life-long passion for science. You'll gain valuable experience working with children and with large groups, and get specialized training to learn to facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based activities a meaningful way.

Museum on the Move volunteers are a hugely important factor in providing students with exceptional experiences with natural history. With training in the subject matter of in-class activities, they bring the natural history to life, helping students make lasting connections between what they learn in the classroom, natural history, and scientific inquiry. Through this volunteer engagement, an individual has the unique opportunity to get their foot in the door at NHMU, and engage curious young minds with the thrill of immersive science education.

Note: this volunteer position happens outside of the Natural History Museum of Utah. We are particularly interested in finding volunteers in Utah and Davis Counties to help at schools that are close to their homes.
