Mission Statement

At Affinis Hospice, we believe that a person diagnosed with a terminal illness deserves to live pain and symptom free, surrounded by the comfort and love of family and friends. Dedicated to providing quality hospice care, our staff can administer to the needs of a patient in the comfort of their own home or at one of our in-patient centers. Our personalized approach to health care, in which an interdisciplinary team of professionals provide comfort, care and support to terminally ill patients and their families, is the foundation of our organization. With dedication to professional experience, knowledge and, most importantly, our mission, Affinis Hospice is committed to the care and well-being of its patients.

Description

At Affinis Hospice, we recognize the importantance of our volunteers and the difference they make in the lives of our patients. These giving individuals provide a level of comfort and peace of mind not only to our patients, but also their families. Through their nurturing and support, our volunteers devote their time and talent in a number of positive ways, including offering companionship during home visits, running errands and making telephone calls.

In their supportive roles, Affinis Hospice’s dedicated volunteers are an integral part of our team approach
to patient care. Through their spirit and heartfelt support, our volunteers are making a difference in their local communities.

All interested volunteers receive extensive hands-on training before providing care to patients. In addition, background checks and screenings will be conducted.
