Navigating the traffic, streets, and highways of an unknown city can be daunting. Imagine spending most of your time driving on country roads and the streets of small towns. In contrast, St. Louis roads-like all major cities-can be confusing, stressful, and jam-packed with traffic. Patients visiting St. Louis for medical treatment may be overwhelmed simply navigating to their appointments.
That's why HavenHouse provides roundtrip shuttle service for patients and their families to and from local medical facilities-seven days a week and up to three routes a day.
Driving the HavenHouse Shuttle means you have the opportunity to change lives. Your help will alleviate the stress and worry our guests may encounter on their medical journey. You can be their navigator in an unfamiliar place. If you're looking for an interactive experience where you get to meet and chat with wonderful people, this is the best opportunity HavenHouse volunteers!
Shuttles depart HavenHouse at the following times:
Monday - Thursday
- 7:30 AM
- 11:00 AM
- 6:00 PM
Friday
- 7:30 AM
- 11:00 AM
- 4:00 PM
Saturday
- 9:30 AM
- 4:00 PM
Sunday
- 11:30 AM
- 6:00 PM
This opportunity lasts about an hour to an hour and a half per route, depending on the number of stops, traffic, and other conditions.
There is no special license required, just a clean driving record and background check!
COVID-19 Rules and Restrictions
- Volunteer shuttle drivers must be fully vaccinated or willing to receive the vaccination.
- While working, drivers are required to wear a mask when within the vehicle and when with patients and families.
- Volunteers must also be willing to disinfect the area after each passenger (cleaning supplies provided).

This shift covers the morning route for Monday through Friday. One driver per route, per day. Drivers can pick up multiple routes.

This shift covers the morning route on Saturday. One driver per route, per day. Drivers can pick up multiple routes.

This shift covers the mid-day route for Monday through Friday. One driver per route, per day. Drivers can pick up multiple routes.

This shift covers the afternoon route for Sunday. One driver per route, per day. Drivers can pick up multiple routes.

This shift covers the early evening route for Friday and Saturday. One driver per route, per day. Drivers can pick up multiple routes.

We offer lodging and complimentary meals to the families and patients that stay at HavenHouse St. Louis. Other offerings include transportation to and from area hospitals, on-site support, Internet connections with email and complimentary telephone calls to family and friends, recreational facilities and beautiful grounds to enjoy the outdoors.
We are in need of individuals, groups and companies to invest and donate their time as well as share their professional talents with our organization. We rely on over 2,000 volunteers each year to meet the goals of our mission and help to create a special place for the families we serve.

- Volunteers are asked to commit roughly one hour per route. Time spent may vary depending on road conditions, passenger arrival, and the number of shifts claimed.
- Willing to undergo a Motor Vehicle/Driving Check and a Background check. Fully vaccinated. Willing to wear a mask when around patients and during your shift.
