ORGANIZATION: Marion Polk Food Share

Come help us serve a delicious, healthy lunch to the seniors of South Salem!

The word is out about the great food at the South Salem Senior Center and the number of seniors joining us for lunch is on the rise! Our staff need the help of caring, hardworking volunteers to help serve a healthy, delicious meal and spend time with our neighbors.

Volunteers support is needed to:

  • Serve food as patrons arrive
  • Serve beverages and sides after patrons are seated
  • Remove dirty dishes from the tables
To begin volunteering:
  • Fill out a volunteer application at https://www.marionpolkfoodshare.org/volunteer/
  • Attend a New Volunteer Orientation Monday's at 10:00am or Tuesday at 1:30pm
  • Complete a background check during your orientation
  • Schedule your first shift!

Description

Every month, more than 46,000 people - including 15,000 children - will access emergency food through the Marion Polk Food Share partner network. This food may be a hot meal served at a shelter, a free community meal served at a church, or an emergency food box from a food pantry. This nutritious food will help children and adults learn, work, and thrive.
