ORGANIZATION: Create Now

On Saturday, August 3rd from 10:00am to 1:00pm, Create Now is hosting our 5th Annual Power of the Arts Festival at Venice Hope Park, which is across the street from our facility. We’re located near STAPLES and the Convention Center.

We anticipate 400-500 kids of all ages participating in an Open Mic Talent Show, fun arts and crafts projects, meeting popular characters and enjoying tacos and snacks. We’ll be giving away hundreds of backpacks with supplies, plus other items to the low-income families in our neighborhood. You can learn more at this link: https://youtu.be/4LSXsC9k4MQ.

We need an Event Coordinator who has previous experience working with children and the arts to assist with our festival. Since this is the fifth year organizing the event, many of the vendors and logistics are already in place. The salary is commensurate with your experience.

  • Order tables, chairs and other necessities like food and water
  • Coordinate all logistics
  • Organize sponsor benefits

Mission Statement

Create Now is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1996 that transforms the lives of youth in need through arts mentoring and experiences. We serve vulnerable children from birth to age 24 with our therapeutic programs in music, writing, visual arts, fashion, digital media and the performing arts. Kids learn to express themselves in a positive manner versus the destructive ways that they have in the past. Each year, we also bring thousands of these youngsters to concerts, plays and other cultural events. We have reached over 44,000 of the most troubled youth in Southern California during the last 22 years.

Description

Create Now empowers youth through arts education and mentoring. We especially serve children from Pre-K to age 24 (transitional youth) who have been abused, neglected, homeless, domestic violence victims, incarcerated, etc. by matching them with artists, writers, musicians, actors, dancers and others. Create Now provides training and materials to implement therapeutic programs in music, writing, visual arts, performing arts, fashion and digital media 175 partner agencies, like shelters and group homes.

Each year, we also bring thousands of these forgotten children who have fallen through the cracks to concerts, plays and other cultural events at premiere venues in the region. We have reached 44,000 of the neediest youth in Southern California during the last 22 years.
