The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to become trained and certified Medicaid/Medicare Counselors.

Purpose: Help the average person through complicated paperwork. Assist clients in organizing paperwork, filling out claim forms, filing Medicaid/Medicare applications, understanding benefits in a variety of insurance products, and resolving problems.

Tasks: Meet with individuals needing assistance with any aspect of health insurance (looking over plans & any changes the individual has). Meetings may take place at the client’s home, at hospitals, or other settings-- it is your choice.

Qualifications: No experience is required. You must be willing to complete online and in-person trainings and be able to pass a background check. Seeking people who are polite, helpful,patient, problem solvers.

Time: Several hours of online training + 3 days of in-person training, followed by appointments with clients throughout the year.
