During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Do you want to have a huge impact in the lives of others?
Do you want to make your community stronger?
Do you want to help your future neighbors become the most successful citizens they can be?
The Indiana Department of Correction is looking for volunteers at facilities throughout the state. We have numerous opportunities to become involved. Below are some examples.
We are always open to ideas for future programming. The schedule is flexible and so is the time commitment.
You can visit our website and click on "Facilities" on the left hand column to contact the specific facility in your area or you can respond to this post for more information.

We promote public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry.
As the largest agency in the State of Indiana, the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) employees more than 6,400 Hoosiers, supervises almost 10,000 parolees in communities across the state and is responsible for the safety and security of more than 28,000 adults and 450 juveniles inside our correctional facilities.
The IDOC currently operates 21 adult facilities, 3 juvenile facilities and 10 parole districts. Even though the reach is far and wide, each small part of the Department is committed to the main tenets of our mission: to increase public safety and reduce recidivism.
We'll work with your schedule.
