The 24th International Summit on Preventing, Assessing & Treating Trauma Across the Lifespan is returning to San Diego September 2019!


WHO IS IVAT?

The Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT) is a 501(c)(3) organization that condemns violence and oppression in all its forms. We stand with all who work for equality and peace.

OUR MISSION:
Our Mission is to promote violence-free living by improving the quality of life for individuals on local, national and international levels by sharing and disseminating vital information, improving cross-discipline collaborations, conducting research and trainings, and providing direct professional services, program evaluation, and consulting.

WHAT IS THE SUMMIT?

This Summit is a unique forum for professionals across all disciplines and philosophies to gather for in-depth exchange of current information on all facets of violence, abuse and trauma prevention, intervention and research. We are one of the very few events that include researchers, practitioners, advocates, survivors, and front-line workers from all disciplines to share information, discuss controversial issues, and engage in difficult dialogues.

Everybody interested in promoting violence-free living!
This volunteer opportunity is perfect for anybody interested in mental health, non-profits, and/or event management! A valuable experience to see how a non-profit contributes to the mental health community with a large scale Summit.

Volunteers are applicable for free summit registrations restrictions apply

Description

The Family Violence & Sexual Assault Institute (FVSAI) DBA Institute on Violence, Abuse & Trauma (IVAT) strives to be a comprehensive training and research center addressing interpersonal violence and the implications of trauma. We strive to bridge the gaps between policy, practice and research, and help improve current systems of care by providing direct professional services, program evaluations, consultations and trainings.
