Volunteer Opportunity! We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help out at the Bird Walk Leaders Breakfast, Saturday, June 1 at 8:00 AM, South Mastick Picnic Shelter off of Valley Parkway in the Rocky River Reservation. What: Breakfast for the leaders of the Spring Bird Walks
Date & Time: Saturday, June 1 at 8:00 AM
Location: South Mastick Picnic Shelter, Rocky River Reservation, Fairview Park, OH 44126 Duties:

* We need to be at the S. Mastick Picnic Shelter by 7:30 AM. I will be bringing the beverages, bakery, fruit and yogurt. Will need help setting up the breakfast items in a buffet style with beverages and cups at one end, bakery, fruit and yogurt down the table so easily accessed by attendees. We will provide plates, cups, napkins and plastic ware so need to set them out as well. *There are usually about 12 leaders who are able to attend so we are not talking about a huge group. *Once breakfast is over we will need to clean up a little so raccoons and animals don’t get into the food if there are any leftovers. Depending on how long it takes people to eat we may be able to clean up by 9:00 or so. *After breakfast we take a bird walk. Please dress for the weather including shoes that might get wet due to rain or dew if you want to participate in the walk. If you're interested, please email info@wcaudubon.org or nancyhowell@wcaudubon.org and we'll respond quickly! Thank you in advance!

Mission Statement

Educating community about conservation of the natural world through member involvement in chapter activities and community outreach.

Description

Western Cuyahoga Audubon is a chapter of the National Audubon Society. Our members are from the western Cuyahoga County, Ohio region. We coordinate activities throughout the entire area and throughout the year. We offer families, couples and singles opportunities to enjoy and learn about nature with others of similar interests and beliefs. Our members range from experienced naturalists to first time explorers.

Our members' interests are in enjoying, experiencing, and learning about nature. Western Cuyahoga Audubon offers many opportunities to participate in field trips, volunteer activities, and educational programs while meeting other people with similar interests and values. We conduct bird walks, teach bird identification and participate in the Annual Christmas Bird Count and Audubon Spring Spring Bird Census. But that's only a small part of what we're about.

What binds us is our love of nature through all seasons. As lovers of nature, Cleveland is a great place for us to live. We have an excellent park system, a great lake, natural beauty and a vast variety of activities which allow us to enjoy all that nature has to offer.

This is your opportunity to support, on a local level, our parks, local conservation initiatives and local legislation issues. Join us in enjoying, supporting and experiencing all of the nature Cleveland has to offer.
