Pets in KC are in urgent need of help! You can be part of the solution to pet homelessness and shelter surrenders in our city. Local shelters are at capacity, and we're addressing the issue head-on by taking to the streets to connect directly with struggling pet owners in need of assistance.
Through our work with Animal Control, we have pinpointed the neighborhoods with the highest percentages of animal control calls. These communities are most in need of education, support, low-cost pet care and other resources to help families keep their beloved pets in their homes.
We know the most powerful way to help is by talking directly with the folks who need support. Come with us as we walk neighborhoods in teams, posting flyers with instructions for providing basic pet care, and information on our low-cost services. We'll also take plenty of pet food, treats, and pet care supplies to give out when we see pets in need.
Join us tomorrow, May 22nd, as we visit neighborhoods with KC Animal Control and staff from Wayside Waifs. Join us for a picnic pizza lunch after our outreach! Together, we can make a difference for pets and families in Kansas City who need it most.
